Melanie Gilligan is a Canadian critic, musician and artist living and working in London. As Petit Mal, an electro-pop duo she fronts with writer Ben Seymour, Gillian wrote the eponymous song that features on the soundtrack of Crisis in the Credit System (2008). In it she sings with icy insouciance, “I found a bubble inside a crisis, a hole full of emptiness”.
